It follows different characters and storylines for each season (which is on its 11th season as of 2022,) all of which take place in the series’ fictional universe. You might even find some of the stories loosely based on real-life events. And with over 123 episodes (and running) to watch, American Horror Story will surely draw you in deeper and deeper on a binge-watch spree.
3, Animal Kingdom (6seasons, 2016–2022)
If gritty family crime drama is more of your cup of tea, then Animal Kingdom is a great series to watch. Based on a 2010 Australian film, it follows the story of Joshua “J” Cole, who moves in with his estranged (criminal) relatives after the death of his mother. The Codys then embark on a series of intricate heists that will surely keep you on the edge of your seat.
Although the final season ended last August 28, 2022, you’ll still have lots of episodes to watch (there’s 75 of them!)
4. Arrested Development (5 seasons, 2003–2019)
Arrested Development is a television sitcom series that originally aired on Fox from 2003 to 2006. The show follows the dysfunctional Bluth family, who are struggling to keep their business afloat after the arrest of the family patriarch. The series is presented in a mockumentary style, with interviews and cutaways used to help tell the story.
The show was critically acclaimed but struggled in the ratings, and it was ultimately canceled after three seasons. However, Arrested Development has since gained a cult following and is now considered one of the best television shows of all time. 5. Barry (3 seasons, 2018–present)
When it comes to HBO’s Barry, the best way to describe it is a dark comedy that will have you both laughing and crying. The series follows Barry Berkman (Bill Hader), a hitman from Cleveland who travels to Los Angeles to kill someone for money. However, when he arrives in LA, he finds himself drawn to the local theater scene.

6. Bates Motel (5 seasons, 2013–2017)
If you’re a fan of horror films, then you’ll love the Bates Motel TV series. The show is a prequel to the classic 1960 film Psycho, and it tells the story of how Norman Bates became a killer.
The series is set in the present day, and it follows Norman (played by Freddie Highmore) as he attends high school and tries to deal with his father’s death. While Norman seems like a shy teenager at first, it quickly becomes clear that he’s got some serious issues. Now for a splash of some reality TV. Below Deck Mediterranean chronicles the lives of the crew members who work on a luxury charter yacht. The show follows the team as they cater to every whim of their wealthy guests. From sun-drenched beaches to chic bars and restaurants, the crew must ensure their guests are having the time of their lives.
But working on a yacht is not all fun and games. The crew must deal with long hours, cramped quarters, and demanding passengers. Despite the challenges, the team comes together to provide an unforgettable experience for their guests. Below Deck Mediterranean is a must-watch for anyone who loves reality TV or enjoys spending time on the water.
8. Better Call Saul (6 seasons, 2015–2022)
If you’re a fan of the AMC show Breaking Bad, you’ll definitely want to check out its prequel, Better Call Saul. The series follows the story of small-time lawyer/con artist Jimmy McGill, who eventually transforms into the slimy criminal lawyer Saul Goodman. We see Jimmy struggling to make ends meet and being taken advantage of by his clients while also getting caught up in some shady deals himself. 10. Black Sails (4 seasons, 2014–2017)
Black Sails is a television series that originally aired on the Starz network. The show is set in the Golden Age of Piracy and follows the adventures of Captain Flint and his crew as they sail the seas in search of treasure.

11. Bosch (7 seasons, 2014–2021)
Based on the book series by famed detective/crime novel writer Michael Connelly, the show follows the investigations of LAPD homicide detective Harry Bosch. 12. Breaking Bad (5 seasons, 2008-2013)
Breaking Bad is probably one of the most popular television series in recent times. The show tells the story of Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher who turns to making crystal meth after being diagnosed with cancer.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is a satirical comedy series created by and starring Larry David. Serial killer narratives are one of the staples of the crime fiction genre. However, not many have a plot where the serial killers themselves are being hunted down and murdered—especially by one of their own kind.
The Dexter TV series is set in Miami and follows the life of Dexter Morgan, a forensic analyst who specializes in blood spatter pattern analysis for the Miami Metro Police Department. By day, he helps to solve murders. By night, he takes justice into his own hands, tracking down and killing murderers who have slipped through the cracks of the justice system.
The series is based on the novel by Jeff Lindsay and has been praised for its dark humor, complex characters, and innovative plotlines. The first season aired in 2006 and ran for eight seasons, with the final season airing in 2013. The show has been nominated for multiple Emmy Awards and won a Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Drama in 2008.

If you’re looking for a show that’s equal parts heartwarming and hilarious, then you need to check out Gilmore Girls. The series follows the mother-daughter duo of Lorelai and Rory Gilmore as they navigate life in the small town of Stars Hollow.
Lorelai is a single mom who runs an inn with her best friend, Sookie, while raising Rory on her own. Rory is an incredibly bright teenager who attends an elite prep school. Despite their differences, the two women are incredibly close and rely on each other for support and advice.

34. GLOW (3 seasons, 2017–2019)
The American comedy-drama series GLOW is a fictional take on the characters and gimmicks of a women’s wrestling organization in the 1980s called the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (GLOW.)
The show follows the lives of a group of lady wrestlers as they try to make it in the male-dominated world of professional wrestling. And you’ll also get a glimpse into the goofiness of the 80s, complete with big hair and even bigger shoulder pads. So if you’re looking for a show that’s entertaining and enlightening, be sure to give GLOW a watch.
35. Gossip Girl (6 seasons, 2007–2012)
Gossip Girl is a teen drama that aired on the CW from 2007 to 2012. The series follows the lives of a group of wealthy students at an elite private school in New York City. The show became popular for its scandalous plotlines and fashion-forward aesthetics, especially to its teen viewers.

With both their careers slowly going down the drain, will they be able to put aside their differences and work together for the better?
37. Hannibal (3 seasons, 2013–2015)
Borrowing the characters and elements from Thomas Harris’ iconic novels, the TV series Hannibal is a fresh, modern take on the Hannibal Lecter universe.
The story centers on FBI criminal profiler Will Graham as he takes on bizarre murder cases using his uncanny gift of seeing and feeling himself in the killer’s shoes. Helping him out is forensic psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter, who, unbeknownst to Will and everyone else, is a cannibal and serial killer himself. Fascinated by Will’s gift, Dr. Lecter may have other plans in store for him.
Even though the series is quite short (3 seasons of 13 episodes each,) it more than makes up for its impressive plot, cast, and visual elements (especially during Dr. Lecter’s cooking scenes.) It is also completely independent from the movies, so you don’t need to watch them first before diving into the TV series.
38. Homeland (8 seasons, 2011–2020)
The Homeland TV series is a gripping tale of intrigue and suspense. Loosely based on Hatifum (an Israeli TV series), the story takes us to CIA agent Carrie Mathison. She suspects that a rescued U.S. Marine Sergeant held captive by al-Qaeda for eight years has “turned” and is plotting a terrorist attack on American soil. What ensues is a dangerous dance between the two, built on lies and suspicion that puts the nation’s fate at stake.
39. House of Cards (6 seasons, 2013–2018)
The House of Cards TV series is set in the world of American politics and follows the story of Congressman Frank Underwood (played by Kevin Spacey) and his ruthless rise to power and revenge.
The series has been praised for its writing, acting, and direction, and has won several awards, including multiple Golden Globes. In addition to Kevin Spacey, the cast of House of Cards includes Robin Wright, Kate Mara, Corey Stoll, Michael Kelly, and Mahershala Ali.

Delvey was eventually caught and sent to prison, but not before she wreaked havoc on the lives of everyone she came into contact with.

42. Invincible (1 season, 2021–present)
Invincible is an American animated television series that aired on Amazon Prime Video. The show is based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley. It follows the life of seventeen-year-old Mark Grayson, who inherits his father’s superhero abilities.
The show was critically acclaimed for its mature themes, complex characters, and faithfulness to the source material. A word of warning, however. Unlike your typical superhero film, some of the scenes can get very, VERY, ugly and bloody for the characters. Still, Invincible adds a different taste of the superhero genre that fans will surely love.
43. It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia (15 seasons, 2005–present)
Going strong for almost two decades (and running) is America’s longest-running live-action sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The show is about five friends who own and operate Paddy’s Pub, a failing Irish bar in Philadelphia.
The gang includes: Mac (Rob McElhenney), the self-proclaimed “alpha dog” of the group; Dennis (Glenn Howerton), the narcissistic, womanizing member of the group; Charlie (Charlie Day), the simple-minded but lovable janitor; Dee (Kaitlin Olson), the trashy and self-destructive waitress; and Frank (Danny DeVito), the cynical, foul-mouthed patriarch of the group. Together, they get into all sorts of hijinks as they try to make Paddy’s Pub a success.
44. Lost (6 seasons, 2004–2010)
Have you ever felt the dread and helplessness that comes with being lost? Well, that’s the premise of the popular TV series Lost. The story follows the survivors of a plane crash who are stranded on a remote island. They must band together in order to survive, but there’s a lot more going on than meets the eye.
The island is home to all sorts of mysterious creatures and forces, and the survivors soon realize that they are not alone. As they struggle to find a way off the island, they must also grapple with the secrets of the island itself. 45. Love Is Blind (2 seasons, 2020–present)
Love Is Blind is a reality TV show that premiered on Netflix in 2020. The premise of the show is that a group of 15 single men and women are paired and go on dates without ever seeing each other. Instead, they communicate through a series of “pods” in which they can hear but not see their dates. If a couple decides they want to get engaged, they will then get the chance to see each other for the first time. Will the meeting, however, prove that love really is truly blind?
While the show has been criticized for its shallowness and lack of realism, it has been praised for its insight into the nature of human connection and for its celebration of love in all its forms. 46. Lucifer (6 seasons, 2016–2021)
One of the many Netflix series that has garnered a huge following (albeit mixed reactions from viewers for this one), the show centers on the titular character. After becoming bored with his life in Hell, Lucifer decides to move to Los Angeles and open up a nightclub. However, he quickly finds himself caught up in the city’s criminal underworld. Meanwhile, he also forms an unlikely alliance with an LAPD detective named Chloe Decker. Together, they begin to solve crimes and uncover some of the city’s darkest secrets.
With its mix of action, mystery, and humor, Lucifer is a fun and addicting show that is sure to please viewers of all ages. 47. M*A*S*H (11 seasons, 1972–1983)
The classic comedy television series M*A*S*H was set during the Korean War and follows the staff of a mobile army surgical hospital (MASH) as they work to save the lives of soldiers.
